Dr. Lucrecia Escobar
Dr. Escobar, a native of Colombia, earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in Bogotá in 1979. In 1981, she completed a year of contact lens residency in Madrid, Spain. Dr. Escobar practiced Optometry at a hospital and later established her private practice in 1990.
After moving to Los Angeles, she obtained her California optometry license in 2001. Soon thereafter, Dr. Escobar joined Upland Eye Care where she provides comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages, including a specialty in contact lens fitting.
Dr. Escobar concurrently practices at the El Monte Comprehensive Health Center (EMCHC), a Los Angeles County/USC clinic. In 2006, she became a member of the clinical faculty at the University Eye Center of Los Angeles, a teaching clinic of the Southern California College of Optometry.
Dr. Escobar is a member of the American Optometric Association and California Optometric Association. She is fluent in Spanish and often travels to Latin America as a lecturer and a trainer to certify health professionals in performing diabetic eye examinations and screenings. Her hobbies include running, swimming, and orchids.
