Speaker and sign-language translator at the podium Southern California Non Profit Magazine representative Dwight Cromie recently had the opportunity to sit down and speak with Howard Boylan, a board member for the Riverside Medical Clinic Foundation, to discuss the bullying-awareness seminar they hosted in March of 2012. The summit featured a variety of informational booths and four speakers discussing their experiences with, and strategies for, combating both bullying and 'cyber bullying.'

Boylan is a third generation board member of the Riverside Medical Clinic Foundation's outreach programs; his father, Richard Boylan, played a key role in the Foundation's establishment in 1985, his mother serving on the board after him. Having been a home-visit doctor, Boylan's father was incredibly dedicated to his patients, and saw the need for educating the general public on health issues. He and several other doctors at the Riverside Medical Clinic established the Foundation in order to fill the need for free programs that provided the information doctors had for illness and treatments to the public. Boylan proudly claimed: "I think they've continued that mission for the last 27 years."
